So I decided to do a weekly sketch of some funny things that have happened to myself or others on this fitness journey. Here is the first ROUGH mock up of my very first trail ride on my Road bike a few years back.
I’ll clean the drawings up so they resemble what i have in mind for the future.

    Motivation comes in many forms!

    Hey Folks!

Sorry I’ve haven’t posted in the past few weeks! I’ve been training hard and developing some new content that will be coming soon. The Journey TV will be in Austin and California bringing you some fun content/ advice from some real pros.

So, i get asked “are you really doing IRONMAN TEXAS” and the answer is YES! I’m in it to win it! hahah
Well… we all know the truth, we all know the reality, that.. it’s not a walk in the park, that… there are cutoffs on the course that if you don’t make it in time then game over. It’s easy to be afraid of those things, it’s easy to maybe get intimidated by the lean, well trained athletes.. Well… i say HOGWASH.. i know the chances, the reality..and i don’t care.. mentally I’m prepping myself as a contender not a finisher.. a contender! We can talk about the reality afterward! Until then watch yourself..because it would be a shame to get caught sleeping!

4 weeks before this event, We decided to train together a couple times a week and complete our first Triathlon of the season. The distance was 400m Swim, 11 Miles Bike and 2 Mile run. You learn something new every race and you hope to improve on it each time. My very first and only Triathlon was in Indiana in 08, Open water, 800m Swim, 18 bike, 5k run.. I learned that i can complete one,Triathletes are a great bunch and open water is my nemesis… Oh .how did i forget the last one! lol

This being the first Triathlon video, i just wanted to show the enjoyment around training and completing an event. Jack at Ironheadrp.com puts on a great race, We had a good time and really increased our performance on individual events.I know my running has improved and i actually just PR’d a run this past Monday.Lezlie took her 13mph average to 16mph and rising. Jason was able to do Saturday and Sunday back to back beating his time the following day by 3+ minutes. We all plan to keep training and improving our times. I heard someone whispering about Kansas 70.3 next year… ummm that’s a lot of kool-aid to drink! but i’m pretty thirsty…….

We used the Alter G (www.alter-g.com), which i cannot speak enough about. I was able to set the speed to equal a 10 minute mile and as i tired out lower my body weight to stay at that pace. If your injured there are a whole plethora of uses. I’d truly recommend if your in the DFW area to contact Spring Valley and look into it.

The Computrainer was another great tool at Spring Valley Chiropractic and we were able to train on some of the IRONMAN courses. It really lets you focus on your riding technique and challenges you to never stop spinning, so you learn to push and pull using all of your muscle groups.

    See you soon!

Ladies..ladies.. seriously.. ..I mean seriously.. slow down….breathe…ok…ok.. pace yourself!

It’s funny because i never wanted to be in front of a camera, I’m very happy being behind the lens capturing the world around me. Well… since The Journey TV started earlier this year I’ve had to come to grips with being filmed.. Bad angles,Bad Light, plumbers crack (i.e bad angle),etc.. i’m still getting used to this whole camera thing but I’m really enjoying all the encouraging fitness friends and new workouts! It’s been a blast!

I met up with Michael “Clean” Budenosky (Triathlete and photographer), his wife Denise Whitson (Triathlete) and Kris Parks (Triathlete and had 5 secs on national TV with Bob Harper in a spin class hehehe ;) ) for a great hill climbing training ride. Clean wanted to do some cycling shots so in a matter of minutes *click *clack *click there i was in my Lycra standing in front of a camera… let’s repeat that slowly.. in….lycra….in..front…of…a……CAMERA!.. oh well.. i figure.. if I’m in baggy jeans and shirt does it change suddenly making me a 6’3 200lbs, Ken Doll with the Abs of king Leonidas??? NOPE.. I’m big, I’m a Guy.. GET OVER IT! lol.. Here are the pictures from the shoot.. Clean did a great job! Which ones do you like? Let me know!
